Cora McCloskey was fortune enough to have her letter published in the "Dear
Grace" book. Below is her account of the experience.
OUR EXPERIENCE OF THE DEAR GRACE COMPETITION -Cora McCloskey helped by Chloe Pyke
Before Christmas, everyone in fifth and sixth class entered the 'Dear Grace' competition. We all had to write a letter to Grace. It was like writing to our penpal. The Grace Nolan foundation was set up by Grace's parents. In 1999 Grace died from a blood disease so her parents decided to set up a foundation so that children could write to Gracea about their life or anything they wanted to. The money that was raised went towards a centre for other children that have the same disease. In December a parcel came to the school. It was for me!! It included a Newbridge fame and a copy of the 'Dear Grace' book. I was one of the winners!!. There were fifty four winners and we all got our letters published in the 'Dear Grace' book.
